Vehicle Quality 

Buying a used car isn't a science, all vehicles have variables:- Age / Mileage / Appearance / Condition / Service History, Maintenance records, Finish / Equipment / Wear / Performance / Durability / Specification / Usage etc.   

One thing is certain, the mechanical parts of a used car are all worn to some degree, expectations of durability should be different for vehicles of different age/ mileage/ or even manufacturer!  - our processes mean your car will be 'health checked' prior to delivery to you.

Buyers are always given a full opportunity to inspect ** & a 'try before you buy' test drive, if either of these inspections raises any queries then please bring it to our attention.

** or have expert/agents appointed to do so on their behalf.


It is important that all buyers inspect the vehicle fully before they buy, TCD sell used vehicles that may or may not have imperfections in their appearance or equipment or function, used vehicles can often have imperfections in paintwork, glass & plastics, upholstery/plastics, or items absent from tools manuals or trim or any other area. Matters raised to us after the sale cannot be considered as the vehicle will have left our premises - none of this affects your statutory rights.

Can I reserve the Car ?

YES !, To ensure no-one beats you to it then make an advance payment, it will initiate your contract to buy, we then cease advertising and commence all final preparations for the vehicle. If you subsequently withdraw (without any breach of contract from us) then advance payments Less than £260.00 will not be returned, primarily because we will have commenced all final prep AND we will have removed the vehicle from sale & potentially lost other buyers in the interim.

If UK legislation** requires us to refund then we always will of course, & within 48 hours.  ALL advance payments are received by us under these terms.

Post Sale

we have a full FCA compliant robust process, as follows:

Stage One] Refer to your Warranty booklet, or call Auto Union Warranties Ltd. on 0845 501 0002 IF you purchased the product.

If you feel your query hasn't been handled in accordance with your policy, then 

Stage Two]  Call us on 07421 263258, we'll assist - if it's appropriate to do so.

If, after this, you remain dissatisfied then:-

Stage Three]  Email who will reply within 24Hrs - 7 days. All matters are then considered in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If you still remain dissatisfied & insist on raising a Formal Complaint then 

Stage Four]  Write to Customer Relations Director at our Website Address.  Complaints are then logged & our written response is held on file. Invariably there will be documentation and evidence gathering as part of the process and therefore full co-operation in for obtaining the same is essential. 

Hopefully, you'll be satisfied by our formal response, but if not then your options are to make representation to either of these bodies;

* Citizens Advice Bureau [CAB] or Alternative Dispute Resolution service provider [ADR] 

* the Ombudsman, see 

* County Court [ Warning - it's essential you seek professional advice before embarking on such a course of action.. i.e. a solicitor as the costs and timescales of such action can be high & long ] reliance on internet guidance or chat forums carry risks! 

Rest assured TCD will do everything we are expected to do when we first hear of a bonafide problem or genuine grievance, we've an excellent reputation for post-sale resolutions. This said we've also known some people to have much higher expectations than legislation provides as Used Goods are treated noticeably differently than New Goods!

Admin Charges ONLY apply IF a broker/Lender charges TCD, If they don't then we don't !!  The buyer will likely have seen the vehicle advertised on the broker/Lenders 's website OR arranged finance PRIOR to contacting us or finding our vehicle from our advertising platforms.

  • Money Laundering Regulations ** Cash payments over £7000 are fine, just bring a bonafide ID [passport/driving license] and written proof of address. 
  • Uncollected Vehicles - Storage Charges £22+vat=£26.40 [per day], a written 'NOTICE' will always precede charges accruing.

  • Vehicle History - Documents that arrive with previous owners details form part of the maintenance history of the vehicle, the ONUS is on previous Owners / Traders to have removed personal data if appropriate. Any Data subject [Person] who doesn't want their details to be forwarded to new Owner MUST remove such documents prior to the vehicle's disposal OR specifically notify us. Failure to do so constitutes 'implied' consent. This is a legitimate business interest for us and for the wider Used vehicle market in regard to fraud prevention and safety, notwithstanding future value retentions
  • SPEEDING FINES/PARKING CHARGES etc . - TCD Charge £120 (for administration) IF TCD have to deal with any matters incurred by a Buyer or Customer during their Loaning of/Test drive of any TCD owned Vehicle. This admin charge is payable 'in addition' to any costs TCD have to pay to settle aforesaid matters. All drivers are responsible for Road Traffic Act matters and Parking Compliances.
  • SERVICE HISTORY - Due to GDPR we are unable to validate historic service records, All documents we receive with a vehicle will be transferred to a new buyer however we DO NOT authenticate and buyers accept these documents on this 'specific condition'.  Any queries regarding the service record of any car MUST be raised to TCD prior to taking possession, as once Documents leave our possession subsequent queries will not be entertained.
